Thousands are marching up the steps of Capitol Hill in hopes of bringing a better world to women and girls, concert-enthusiasts are gathering to hear tunes from artists like India.Arie and Michael Franti, the Empire State Building is lit with orange lights (CARE’s signature color), and a live celebrity Twitter auction is taking place in honor of achievements made by women and girls from around the world.
Not only is today a celebration of women’s achievements, but also the entire month. The month of March is dedicated to the history of women and their willpower, perseverance, and determination to create a nation where women would receive basic rights.
