clock timeWith client work, Fashion Week(s) and just life, the past few weeks have been extra busy and many people wonder how we’re managing it all. Sometimes we wonder, too! In a perfect world, there are eight hours of work, eight hours of play and eight hours of sleep in a day. When’s the last time you’ve done that, right? While life is rarely broken up into pretty sections, at the end of the day we all have the same 24 hours and our goal is to strive for maximum efficiency. Time management, of course, is critical during seasons, weeks and/or days where there’s a lot going on. Here’s what we do:

1) At the end of the day, we prep for the next day. Sometimes downloading all of the leftover to dos, etc. It’s a little extra step at the end of the day, but it allows you to feel ready to go for the next day.

2) We schedule breaks and workouts. (So it’s kind of like mandatory play.) We know if/when these things happen, for the most part. There are changes on occasion and we adapt as necessary.

3) We know our limits. We do our best to communicate at various stages throughout a process and we’ve found that people, whether they’re colleagues, clients and/or vendors, can relate to hectic times as we all have them. Don’t go it alone, be upfront about what you can and can’t do and when you can get it done and communicate!
