Spring has sprung and with this new season comes the opportunity to reorganize and regain a new sense of your personal and business life. So open your windows, put on some good jams and get ready for a renewed you! Below we’ve provided some spring cleaning tips to get you moving:

Reorganize your workspace. Sift through file cabinets in search of out of place papers and remove any unneeded books/clutter from bookshelves. Desk distractions are just that, distractions! Remove and relocate any items on your desk that take your attention away from getting work done. A great way to boost your attention span is to add a houseplant to your workspace. A recent article from Scientific American suggests that adding some green to your desk can improve how you think and increase your attention span.

Do some e-cleaning. Take some time to go through your inbox and delete any not-so-important emails. Create subfolders that can be used to streamline your email communication, for instance, individual clients, financial, personal, blogs, etc. Clean out your computer’s hard drive and usb drive, too. Do a system backup so that your important documents are safely stored. Delete software programs that haven’t worked for you or that you have never used. If it isn’t benefiting your personal or business life, it is just taking up space and can be a distraction later on. Spruce up your website or blog, and update all social media accounts. Phew!

Make a schedule that works. Nothing is better than knowing that you have enough hours in the day to accomplish everything you need to do, right? Well, making a solid schedule that works for you can easily do this. Utilize calendars such as iCal, Google Calendar, or even a homemade one to organize your day, week, month, etc. Create time slots that will allow you to allocate your time throughout the day effectively.
