The phrase “Thinking outside of the box” is now so passé that people insist on thinking beyond the box, aside from the box or around the box in a triangular manner. Even so, I couldn’t help but to think of this phrase when I saw the BK Studio located at Universal City Walk in Orlando. Not because the idea is passé, but because it’s actually kind of shaped like a box.

The BK Studio is described as “Burger King’s part art gallery, part think-tank with a dash of mad scientist’s experiments thrown in for good measure.” Burger King has partnered with artists and designers to produce one-of-a-kind t-shirts that any customer can have in keeping with Burger King’s “have it your way” style. Who would have thought one might pick up cool, unique gear from a burger joint?

In a time where everyone is thinking green and organic, it can be tough for fast food chains. We all saw Super Size Me, and we know that eating healthy can be challenging at a hamburger spot. It’s necessary for companies to come up with new, creative ideas to attract customers and speak to their senses. Companies need to think beyond their traditional modes of marketing their services and creatively reach out to the masses, be willing to take risks, and perhaps come up with a creepy, crowned guy whom no one quite “gets” on the commercials but we all remember.

What is your company doing to stay ahead of the curve? What other areas are you willing to explore to promote your brand? Are you in need of a creative, blue-skying session? Give us a call!
